About

Sacramento County is creating its very first Active Transportation Plan! The Plan will focus on walking, biking, and rolling (wheeled mobility devices used by people with disabilities, strollers, scooters, skateboards, shopping carts, etc.). Input from community members (like you!) will help us develop this Plan. We hope you will share your experiences, challenges, and vision of walking and biking with us. At the end of the project, the plan will have a list of project recommendations that will help the County:

  • Solve infrastructure problems for people who walk, bike, and roll
  • Create new routes for people to walk, bike, and roll
  • Make walking and biking easier, safer, and more comfortable for people of all ages and abilities

Community Input

Thank you to everyone who filled out a survey, left a comment on the public input map, or attended one of our events. The survey and map are now closed. We will be sharing draft recommendations in the spring and look forward to your input then. In the meantime, please sign up for the project mailing list to receive project updates, and submit requests via 311 if you see an immediate concern that affects your ability to walk, bike or roll in Sacramento County.

Events

We need your input! Throughout the planning process, the County will organize a number of different events to listen to your feedback and to present ideas, data, and material to review and discuss. Pending shelter-in-place orders, we may also host pop-up outreach, where we will set up a table at an existing event to talk to the community. Details of upcoming events will be posted on the website and emailed to you if you sign up for our announcement list. Your participation helps shape how we plan for the future of bicycling and walking in Sacramento County.
